 What can I do to study at the University of Salamanca as a student in this programme?

First of all, you must inform yourself of the agreements which your university of origin has with us. Additionally, you must be directly nominated by your university, given that we do not accept independent applications.

As a mobility exchange student, do I receive any scholarships or financial aid from the University of Salamanca?

No, we do not provide scholarships or financial aid to students within this program.

It is essential that you complete the online application on time, following the instructions which appear on the webpage.

What is the deadline for completing my online application?

You have until the 31st of May to complete the application if you are planning to study at the University of Salamanca for the first semester or for the entire academic year, or until the 30th of September if you are planning to study here for the second semester.

Can I apply to the mobility program for two semesters which span two different academic years?

No, you can apply to stay for the full academic year or for the first or second semester, but only if they fall within the same academic year.

Can I do medical work experience/ rotations as part of this program?

No, this program does not accept students of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing or Physiotherapy.

By coming to the University of Salamanca under the learning agreement, am I an exchange student?

No, we only consider as exchange students those who are received by USAL under the Exchange Grant Program with Foreign Universities, as this program ensures reciprocal mobility.

How does a mobility agreement student matriculate in USAL? Do I have to go to my faculty’s office in order to be enrolled?

No, matriculation is done online under the Personalized Student Learning Plan and it is not necessary to do the preinscription.

What is the Personalized Student Learning Plan?

It is a program which allows foreign students with a good knowledge of the Spanish language the chance to share classes with Spanish students enrolled at the University of Salamanca and obtain a certificate listing the university courses taken, courses which can be recognized at the university of origin, in agreement with their own criteria.

How much does matriculation cost?

Matriculation in the Personalized Student Learning Plan for the academic year 2019/2020 costs 63 euros per credit, on top of which 61 euros must be added to cover general administration costs. This price is updated annually.

Do I receive some form of matriculation discount from the ICP for being a foreign student of Spanish nationality?

No, the prices are set by the International Courses office and do not take nationality into account.

How many subjects can I enroll in?

As part of the ICP program, it is possible to enroll each semester in a minimum of two and a maximum of six subjects offered within study plans at the University of Salamanca.

What is the deadline for online enrollment?

The deadline for online enrollment has not yet been set for the next semester.

How do I get my grades at the end of my stay?

You can obtain a certificate with the marks you received if you ask for it at the International Courses office. Additionally, you can leave a postal and/or email address so that you can have it sent to you if you know in advance that you will return to your country of origin before being able to collect the certificate in person.

How long does each semester last at the University of Salamanca?

The academic year is divided into two semesters. The first semester begins in September and ends in January. The second semester begins in February and ends in June. The exact dates for each academic year can be found in the academic calendar approved by the university.

What language are classes at the University of Salamanca taught in and what level of Spanish do I need in order to be able to follow classes?

Subjects are given in Spanish, therefore it is necessary that you have an adequate enough level of Spanish in order to understand them. We do not require a language certificate but we recommend that you have at least B1 level in Spanish.

Do I have to take out insurance before coming to the University of Salamanca?
